
Springmortgage is a Nigeria based Primary Mortgage Institution (PMI), with competence in Mortgage Creation, Property Trading, and Property Management.
We commenced business in July 2004 as Guardian Express Mortgage Limited.
Following the re-capitalization of our parent bank – Spring Bank Plc, we became Spring Mortgage Limited in September 2006, and emerged as a key player in the mortgage finance sector in terms of products, customer base, and efficiency in service delivery.
Springmortgage has been rated by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria as a top 3 PMI in processing & accessing National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF) Loans for her customers. This is the result of the considerable skills and resources we have deployed to contribute to the development of mortgage finance systems in Nigeria. Bulus Pam Dareng - Chairman (click for more information)
Bulus Pam Dareng is an experienced banker whose career began with First Bank, where he retired in 2003 as a General Manager. In the same year, he was appointed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) as Executive Director, Operations of The Bank of the North. A Bachelor of Science degree holder in Economics from the University of Abuja, Dareng has attended many management and professional courses abroad and in the country some of which were at the London Manchester Business School, UK; International Development Institute, Dublin, Ireland and the London Management Centre.
Mr. Ifeanyi Onuorah - Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer (click for more information)
Ifeanyi Onuorah attended King’s College Lagos and the University of Ibadan, Ibadan where he obtained a B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Science in 1988. He is an associate of the Certified Pensions Institute of Nigeria. Mr. Onuorah worked at various times as a programmer with PZ Industries Limited and Inlaks Computers. Mr. Onuorah commenced his banking career in 1990 with Fidelity Union Merchant Bank Limited (now Fidelity Bank PLC) where he rose to head the Information Technology group. In a period spanning 8 years in the bank, he was at various times Deputy Head, Large Corporate Group and Branch Manager Onitsha.
In 1998 he was a member of the management restructure team that was recruited by Restral Consulting to restructure the Universal Trust Bank Plc during his stay there he was at various times the Branch Manager Idumota and Ikeja. Ifeanyi joined Guardian Express Bank PLc (now Spring Bank PLC) in 2002, He headed the Victoria Island Branch and the Ikeja Branch, and he was also the Group Head Transport Group and Remedial Assets Management. He was also the Group Executive Telecommunications and Brand Management a responsibility he held until his appointment as the Managing/Chief Executive Officer of Spring Mortgage Ltd.
Mr. Onuorah has over 18 years cognate banking experience in virtually all aspects of commercial banking, he is widely traveled and aficionado of automobile engineering.
Emmanuel Onucheyo - Director (click for more information)
a director has over 30 years post-graduate working experience in agricultural and financial banking, general agricultural and financial advisory services to major companies and international development agencies, farming and farm management, rural development livestock production and veterinary practice.
He set up the Agricultural and Agro-Allied Unit of the former International Merchant Bank (IMB) Limited. He managed the portfolio and liased with other departments and banks for loan syndication, equity and debt issues, equipment leasing, general financial advisory services and raw materials sourcing advisory for major multinational industries in the country.
He taught agricultural banking in a lot of banks and financial training institutions during the period. Onucheyo studied Veterianry medicine at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Animal Production at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and Farm Business Adminstration at the University of London, England
Abdurrahman Umar - Director (click for more information)
holds a masters degree in public Administration (MPA) from the J.F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA and a higher National Diploma in Business Studies, Newcastle-on-Tyne Polytechnic, United Kingdom. A thoroughbred banker, Umar began his career as a co-operative officer in the Kano state Ministry of Trade, Industry and Co-operatives in 1970 rising to the position of principal Assistant Registrar in 1981 before joining Afribank in 1982 to begin a meritorious banking career. From manager, he rose to the position of executive director, overseeing at various times between 1996 and 2002,Finance and Information Technology, Banking Operations, IT and Systems Commercial Banking. He also once served as the deputy chief inspector of the bank.
Augustine Ojagberovwe Avwunufe - Director (click for more information)
Avwunufe holds the B.Sc and M.Sc degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan. He has over two and a half decades of varied experience, in which he has held several positions in Commerce, Manufacturing and Banking Industries. In the last 16 years, he has acquired broad experience in various aspects of Banking especially corporate finance, investment analysis and planning, credit and marketing, credit structuring and credit administration, as well as investment management consulting. Mr. Avwunufe started his career with Nigeria Industrial Development Bank in 1978 as a Research Economist. Between 1980 and 1988, he had a distinguished career in Delta Steel Company Ltd, where he rose to the position of Assistant General Manager. He was a member of several government delegations on the setting up of the Steel Plant. In 1988, he joined Blackwood Hodge (Nig) Ltd with responsibility for Marketing in Nigeria and West Africa.
In 1990, he Joined ABC Merchant Bank Ltd as Manager, Business Advisory Services, with responsibility for managing transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, divestments, corporate reorganization and renewal projects. In September/October 1992, he worked as United Nations Consultant on Export Production Villages in Ghana.
In February 1993, he moved to Fidelity Bank Plc as the Head of Corporate Finance and later Corporate Banking, and Head, Branch Development. He joined City Express Bank Plc in 1998 and rose to become General Manager/Chief Operating Officer.
In 2002, Mr. Avwunufe went into investment consultant as Managing Consultant of Fairdeal Investments Limited. In March 2004, he joined a team of turn around mangers to revamp the ailing Liberty Bank Plc and left in December 2005 as Ag Chief Executive Officer. He returned to his consulting practice thereafter, until his appointment as Executive Director in Spring Bank Plc by the Central Bank of Nigeria in July 2007. Mr. Avwunufe has attended several courses both locally band internationally. He has widely traveled and is a member of several professional organizations.
